A loan of $1,150 helped purchase of fertilizer for potato crops.

Elvia's story

Elvia is years old, is happily married to her husband and has 3 children. When she was a child she used to put her parents' cows out to pasture as they had large quantities of them and since she married she has worked in agriculture as her husband works in this. Now they grow 3 to 4 hectares of potato, she says it is profitable for them, above all when the market becomes scarce. She recently took them to sell and once that harvest can be stored, it lasts her 3 to 4 months and meanwhile she lives from the sale of her cows and when the price of potato increases she takes it to market. Cultivating her lands makes her happy, but it becomes difficult when she has to fertilize and medicate her lands. This is her 7th loan with MFP, during this time she has demonstrated punctuality in her payments. With this money she will buy fertilizers with nitrate, urea and 18 so that in this way her potato crops react well. This will cost her an approximate 3500 to 4000 soles.
