Mrs. Sokkhorn Rom Village Bank Group's story

This village bank loan is for 19 people who live in Roka Village in Kandal. Mrs. Sokkhorn R. is the village bank president. She is a housewife who cooks delicious food for her household. Her husband, Mr. Huonh Hoeurn, is a fisherman. In order to catch more fish, Mrs. Sokkhorn R. decided to ask for a loan to buy more fishnets for her husband’s business. Mrs. Sokkhorn R. is 24 years old and the mother of two children, ages 2 and 4.

Four members of this group have end-of-term loans and the rest have monthly payment loans. Those with end-of-term (EoT) loans are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. These loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
