A loan helped to buy bags of cement, rolls of floor mats and cartons of locks.

Jariatu's story

This is 37-year-old Jariatu. She is married and has 4 children aged 17, 10, 6 and 3 years old. Three are school-going children. She has 1 additional dependent who lives with her to be fostered. In 2000, Jariatu established her business selling cement, floor mat, shovels, table mats, set pans and other items. She began her business because she dropped out of school because of an early pregnancy. She later got married, and her husband introduced her to business by given her some money to start a palm oil business. As the business grew, she began selling household items and building materials instead. Working 7 days a week and 11 hours a day, she earns about 2,000,000 SLL every month from this business. She would like a loan in the amount of 6,000,000 SLL. Jariatu has already received and successfully repaid 5 loans. Now, she requires a new loan in order to buy bags of cement, rolls of floor mats and cartons of locks. In the future, Jariatu plans to expand the business, educate her children and buy a piece of land. This loan will help to improve her business. Shortages of items, especially cement, are her major challenge. She thanks you for your support.
