A loan of $675 helped purchase ingredients to increase bread production.

Melania's story

Ms. Melania C. is a 44-year-old woman who lives in a neighborhood called Edgar Mungia, in the capital city of Managua. She is marred, and her husband is a pastor, so they both work to develop their business. She has two daughters, ages 15 and 17, who are currently studying. They, too, help out with their parents’ business because it is their source of income. Ms. C. has been making homemade bread for two years. She has plenty of experience in business because she used to sell clothing, cosmetics and silver jewelry by catalog. This is her fifth loan request with Afodenic, which has greatly benefited her in helping her maintain her business. She will invest this loan in the materials needed to further develop her capital and yield a greater variety of bread. Her long-term goal is to make her bakery a prestigious one and distribute her assorted breads throughout the entire country.
