La Esquinita Group

A loan of $1,850 helped a member to buy powder for shakes, as well as aloe, and tea.

La Esquinita Group's story

“La Esquinita” [The Little Corner] is the name of this credit group. It was chosen because the meetings are help at the nutrition club that belongs to one of the members and it is located on a corner.

The area where the group originated is in a sugar cane region. There is a sugar factory that is one of the biggest sugar producers in the state. In addition, the sugar factory is one of the main sources of employment along with farming, in the cane plantations.

The members of the group are hardworking women. Their main goal is to offer the families a better quality of life. For those that are single, it is to prepare for the future.

Reyna - selling snacks Rosalba – selling nutritional products Alma - selling cosmetics by catalog and gift items María de Lourdes -selling groceries María de los Ángeles-selling groceries Catalina - selling women's underwear Alicia -selling chicharones

For 6 years, Rosalba has been registered with a nutritional products business. She says that at the beginning, it took her some work to become known, but today her level of sales has allowed her to open her nutrition club (selling from a locale). Rosalba is a very cheerful person. She is happy because with the help of the loan that VisionFund México gives her, she will buy more product to prepare the shakes. Her goal is to keep climbing the ranks of the business' sales structure. This will also allow her to acquire the products at a lower cost and have more profits.

“Having my own club and serving my customers makes me happy with myself because I know that the products I sell can help a lot of people.” Rosalba said proudly.
