Luz De Mi Sendero Group's story

Women’s dreams need to be accomplished through education and capital credit. With credit, many women have been successful like Marta, a married woman 52 years-old, who has seven children, three of whom are minors and in middle school. Marta is a member of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Luz de mi Sendero” – Light My Path.

Some time ago, her family encouraged her to start a business selling clothing and silk screening. Now her husband makes the clothes and she does the silk screening according to her customers’ orders. Marta’s children are involved in the process which has made the family business more successful.

Demand for her products has made it necessary for Marta to have more capital to invest in her business. Now she is planning to use the credit she is requesting to buy high quality paints and bolts of fabric for her silk screening. Marta is confident that the investment will generate good sales and profits, especially with the upcoming festival of the town’s patron saint “Santa Cruz del Quiche” as well as the approaching Independence Day, September 16th.

Now that Marta and her Trust Bank have financial capital and useful training from the Friendship Bridge Education Program which includes topics such as empowerment, self-esteem, and budgeting, they are successfully moving forward. All of “Luz de mi Sendero” are very grateful to Kiva investors for helping them to accomplish their dreams!
