A loan of $625 helped to buy wholesale fabric and renovate his sewing shop with the profits.

Gonzalo's story

Gonzalo is a 28 year old, single man, father of two children and his business is manufacturing sports clothing. He is an entrepreneurial person, purposeful, proactive, a struggler, steady, responsible and hard working. He works in the 16 de Julio area which is found at an altitude of 4,070 meters above sea level and where the El Alto International Airport is. He has a large commercial retail business and has been the established location for immigrants from the rest of the country, especially recent arrivals from the rural areas. The majority of the immigrants that live in this city come from the rural sectors of the La Paz, Oruro and Potosí departments. Gonzalo is of a dark complexion, medium build and short, black hair. His native language is Aymara which he combines with Spanish depending on his customers. His work is manufacturing sport clothing. First, he works on the drawing or design for the garment, preparing the pattern and then traces and cuts to finish the clothing. His dream is to improve his quality of life and that of his two children. He thinks that buying the fabric wholesale will generate a better income for his family. He also needs to make a few renovations on his sewing shop due to various snowstorms that ruined the roof, allowing water to enter and ruin his garments. For these reasons, Gonzalo is requesting a loan to buy wholesale fabric and to renovate his sewing shop with the profits.
