A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow.

Nelly's story

Meet Nelly, a single mother of three who lives in Eldoret - a rural town in Kenya, which is home to many world-class marathon runners. To provide her family with a decent living, Nelly is deeply engaged in mixed-faming. Her primary income sources are milk, tea and crops. She also holds a salary-paying job besides farm activities.

Nelly is seeking a loan to purchase a dairy cow. The change from the purchase will go to purchasing dairy meal. The dairy cow obtained through your loan will produce an average of 10-15 litres of milk per day. This quantity is sustainable daily for both family consumption and sales. The proceeds from sales will take care of the loan repayment.

Once Nelly is done servicing the loan, the proceeds from the sales will take care of her family expenses which are soaring by the day due to inflation. Her mission is to continue to work hard to improve her income and keep providing her family with a better quality of life.
