Mariana's story

Mariana is a 23 years old woman, she is single, has no kids and she sells potatoes and chuño (dried potatoes). She is enterprising, determined, cheerful, tenacious, responsible, and hard-working. She works in a community called Batallas, which is located north of de district of La Paz, approximately 58 km. from the city of El Alto. You can get there through the La Paz paved road - Copacabana. Mariana's complexion is dark, she has long black braided hair, average height, and she dresses in the traditional way. Her native tongue is Aymara, she combines it with Spanish to do business.

She sells potatoes and chuños around the different community fairs, one a day, Tuesday-Sunday; Tuesday: Palcoco, Wednesday: Tuquia, Thursday: Kerani, Friday: Chachacomani, Saturday: Batallas, Sunday: Peñas.

Her dream is to get a better income, so she can improve her life. Due to the competition, she needs to buy potatoes and chuño wholesale to obtain better profits. That´s why Mariana is requesting a loan, to buy potatoes and chuño to improve her quality of life.
