A loan of $250 helped to pay for fabric, cloth, thread, and other materials needed in her tailoring business.

Deogracia's story

Deogracia runs a tailoring business and made good use of a previous loan to buy the materials she needs to do her work. She has been in this line of work for years, and shares her responsibilities with her husband.

She is requesting a new loan for 10,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) to buy additional supplies such as fabric, cloth and thread. The profits she earns from this loan will help her meet her daily needs. She is grateful for the support she receives from Kiva lenders.

Deogracia only desires to be always healthy and fit for work even at her age. She hopes to have more customers and increase her profit so that she could continue to help support her family. She meets with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week; this is where she can also draw strength and inspiration from her religion.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
