A loan helped a member to purchase more accessories, makeup, and many kinds of perfumes for resale to women in her area.


Al -Itefak Group's story

This group is called Al-Itefak. it consists of seven women who are all hard- working. They live in Hodeidah, Yemen. They have taken a loan of 280,000 YER.

Afrah is 40 years old and a mother of eight children, living with them in a very humble and poor family in one of the Hodeidah villages. She is an educated woman with the Elementary education. She was married when she was very young. For this reason, she couldn't complete her studies. Now, she knows her advantage very well, and she knows how she can earn money. She has a strong determination to improve the standards of the living of her family. In the beginning she started with a small amount of money, which she saved up herself. Afrah invested that money in her own business. She has run her business for more than six years selling makeup, accessories, and perfume in order to help her husband with the expenses of the family. She sees this business as a profitable for her. To further expand her business, Afrah requested a loan of 40,000 YER from AMB in order to purchase more of accessories, makeup, and many kinds of perfume for resale to women in her area.


Afrah expects a boost in her income and she hopes to send her children to a private school.
