A loan of $350 helped to purchase nail-polish and removers, accessories, and stationery.

Irene's story

Since she was a young girl, Irene has showed her aptitude for style and business, such that when she saw her aunt doing manicures she helped her, and learned in this way. Ten years ago, before the birth of her first-born daughter, Irene started this same type of business, to which she added various merchandise, progressing so that she had a stable clientele and great sales potential.

Her business is located in her own home and she conducts business daily, starting at 7 in the morning, until 4 in the afternoon. She has received a loan before, that helped her a lot because she was able to make improvements to her premises and to situate it independently, as well as increase the stock of her offering.

Today Irene is the mother of two children, ages 9 years and 3 months. Her greatest longing is to support them, and together with her partner, is creating conditions that better their life. Her immediate goal is to make a home improvement and better the financial life of her family.

At present she is applying for a Kiva loan, her first loan from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will purchase nail-polish and removers, accessories, and stationery. This will quickly improve her business, especially in presentation and in having a greater offering. This will impact her clientele, and help her gain new sales.
