A loan of $725 helped to purchase compost in order to fertilize her land and crops, and to pay off the balance of an outstanding debt.

Argentina's story

Argentina is 45 years old, and she is a widow. She has two children, and she lives with them in a small village within the municipality of Taulabe, Comayagua. Six years ago she decided to grow coffee, corn, and beans; and she sells this production within the same zone, or in the local market.

She is requesting a fifth loan, of 15,000 Lempiras. She will invest this loan in the purchase of compost in order to care for her land and her crops, and she will use part of it to pay off the balance of an outstanding debt that she has.

The goal is to be able to fertilize her crops in order to get better production and earn income.
