Gladys's story

Gladys lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with two children and both go to school. She takes care of additional family members. She operates a kiosk at the market. She sells to all kinds of people on a retail basis. She has been in this business for the last two years. She works six days a week. She has requested a loan of 200,000 UGX to buy trays of eggs, crates of soda, sweets, biscuits, cooking oil, and other kinds of juice. Her major challenges include high transportation costs and electricity, which increase her operational costs. Her goal and inspiration is to own a fully-stocked kiosk .She lives in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and does not have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include food and school fees.
