Geisel es una mujer con 37 años de edad, madre de un niño y es jefa de hogar. Vive con su hijo, el cual cursa la primaria y dos hermanas que ella mantiene desde el momento en que su madre falleció. Es una mujer muy trabajadora, esforzada y con muchos deseos de salir adelante. Tiene visión empresarial, a pesar que su negocio ha presentado altibajos a traves de los años le ha ido bien, debido a que ha podido enfrentar las obligaciones adquiridas. Su negocio es un bazar, cuenta con una cartera sana de clientes, gracias al buen trato y forma de pago que le brinda a sus clientes, los cuales son familiares, vecinos, escolares y trabajadores de diferentes comercios e instituciones de la comunidad limonense. Ha obtenido varios créditos con la Fundación y siempre ha mostrado puntualidad y responsabilidad. Ahora solicita otro financiamiento para reforzar su negocio comprando ropa de mujer y hombre para su bazar, asi satisfacer a sus clientes y generar mayores ingresos, para mejorar la calidad de vida de ella y la de su familia.

In Costa Rica, funding for microfinance institutions is hard to come by, and many institutions find themselves having difficulty growing and reaching all the demand for loans that exist. Kiva works with Fundacion Mujer because it attends a very marginalized population in Costa Rica, with a specific focus on women. In addition to the loan, Fundacion Mujer provides specialized training programs for their borrowers on everything from computer classes to salon training. Because of the difficulty in obtaining capital in Costa Rica, Fundacion Mujer cannot serve all the women that need loans. Therefore Kiva plays a unique role in helping Fundacion Mujer grow its portfolio and reach borrowers it otherwise would not be able to.
