Conceptor's story

Conceptor is a mixed farmer living in the rich Kisii highlands of Kenya, an area that has favorable weather patterns and the cash crop is banana. “Matoke” is the favorite meal and it’s a delicacy prepared from bananas. She is married and has six children of school-going age and has fought so hard raise them. She has been farming for the past 15 years and her source of income has been milk, tea and crops. Dairy farming is close to her heart and she really enjoys milking her cows. The fact that she loves dairy farming can be seen right from the names she has given the cows. One of his cows is named “matonto”, which is a Gusii word denoting beauty.

A lack of capital has always been a challenge to Conceptor and this has been a setback to her in trying to increase her dairy business. She is seeking kindly funds to buy a quality dairy cow that is of a quality breed. The dairy cow that she plans to buy will be producing between 10-15 liters in a single day. This amount will greatly boast her sales volume.

Since dairy farming is a profitable business venture, she will reap more profits because the demand for milk is very high and this will boast her income level. Through the training from Juhudi Kilimo, she has been taught how to be disciplined with finances and she plans to use the extra income she will be making to fully repay the loan and secure the future of her school-going children. She plans to open a very large milk-selling business and channel the profits to other projects she currently has pending.
