A loan of $1,300 helped to remodel his house.

Francisco Pedro's story

The streets of Sololá are witness to the attractive colors that cover its handmade fabrics. It is impossible for tourists to pass by these fabrics without stopping to admire and purchase some. Francisco is an example of the living cultures of our country, Guatemala.

He is 43 years old and married, with three children ages 14, 10, and 7. His children all study in a school near his community. The dignified work that Francisco carries out each day is producing traditional handmade fabrics. He has been making and selling these for over 12 years since it is something that he enjoys doing that also helps to provide an income on which to support his family and improve their quality of life. With the earnings he gets from this activity, he will be able to offer his children a better education.

Francisco is requesting this loan in order to expand his house so that he can display more of his products to tourists that visit his community. One of Francisco's dreams is to expand his business and make more handmade crafts so that he can offer better service to the people who visit him.
