A loan of $650 helped to purchase a computer to add internet access and printing services for her business.

Rosario's story

Rosario is a 51-year-old woman who lives in a metropolitan area of the city in a municipality. Her family is made up of her partner and her two sons, ages 24 and 33. In order to generate income, she does a little bit of everything. She sells cell phone minutes and top-ups, as well as sells sweets, and also manufactures woven dresses and tablecloths with her own hands.

Her business was born in 2011, from the need to generate more family income to support the upkeep and wellbeing of her home. Her workday begins at 7 in the morning and does not end before 10 at night, working like this every day, with the end of obtaining her goal to increase the family's income. Her greatest challenge is having enough working capital to strengthen her business.

Rosario is applying for a kiva loan, and it is her first loan from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With the loan she will purchase a computer to add internet and printing services for her clients. With this investment she will make the most of her clientele, who already know her. She will improve her business, and with greater income further strengthen her business.
