A loan helped to buy corn and plastic bags.

María Del Carmen's story

Each day when a harmonious bird sings in María del Carmen's house, she starts to make delicious corn-based tortillas, the traditional complement to Nicaraguan dishes. Due to the quality of the product and the good customer service she provides, no one resists buying them. She is 32 years old, is single, and doesn't have any children. Ten years ago she started the business with the objective of preserving the family tradition that her mother couldn't continue due to health reasons. She accepted the challenge and her dream is to create a successful business, taking what she learned from her banking and financing degree into account.

María is asking for the loan to increase the production of her capital; she needs to buy corn and plastic bags that serve as packaging. She also wants to do maintenance on her kitchen. She puts her confidence in the financing as this is her only source of income. She wants to gain more customers and to increase her earnings so that she will be able to offer her family better living conditions. She is a friendly, intelligent and entrepreneurial woman with a lot of goals in life. One of them is to establish a small grocery store in her house, so she will work hard until she achieves this.
