A loan of $650 helped to buy vegetables, fruit, beef, chicken, pork and eggs.

Dairo's story

Dairo is 29 years old and has a family composed of his spouse and two young children. To support his family he has had a small business since 2012 where he sells fruit and vegetables. He started his business as they were a displaced family who arrived in the municipality where they now live and he had to find a way to sustain his family. He started selling from street to street with a small cart and added the sale of fried foods which his spouse made. Gradually his fruit business adapted to a more adequate infrastructure and up to now has been growing little by little.

Dario sells the products depending on what is being harvested, each day from 6 am until 9 at night. His goal for the future is to have his own sales location and provide quality education for his children so that they can become professionals.

His main challenge to achieving his goals is working capital. His is not sufficient to meet his dreams. This is the reason he is requesting a loan from Kiva, the first loan he has had through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will use it to buy vegetables, fruit, beef, chicken, pork and eggs. With it he will increase his inventory and have a greater variety in his products, improving the generation of income for his business.
