A loan of $375 helped to buy supplies for making clothes and to make improvements to her workshop.

Gloria Angely's story

Gloria, 29, is a hard-working and determined woman. She is always looking for ways to get ahead.

For a long time she has been working in clothing. She learnt this trade through experience. Little by little she has improved her skills and expanded her knowledge by practising. This led to her opening her own workshop. To do this she set up a space in her home, using some savings that she had to buy her first machines.

She works alone every day, but from time to time she gets help from somebody depending on the amount of orders that she has. Working in this way, she has managed to generate some income to take care of household expenses.

The loan she is asking for is to strengthen her business. With the money she will buy supplies for her clothes making such as cloth, thread, needles, lace, buttons and other things to stock her workshop. She will also open up a space where she can put her machines so she can work in more comfort. This will all help her speed up her production process and get more orders, making her business more profitable.

She says that her main challenge is the competition in the market. However, this only motivates her to keep offering a fantastic service and strive for her business to be officially accredited. This will then allow her to employ other people, improving her quality of life and that of those who influence her work.
