A loan of $1,075 helped to buy an industrial sewing machine and a fabric cutter.

Leidy Johana's story

Greetings from Colombia!

Leidy is a dedicated, hard-working, small business owner who makes athletic bags for third-party vendors. Everything began five years ago when she worked as an employee at a sewing shop where she learned the trade. Today, at 26 years old, she has her own shop which has two direct employees. She works every day and her strength is manufacturing sports bags. In this way she tries to generate enough income to help her husband with the financial responsibilities for their household.

The loan she is seeking will be used to invest in the purchase of an industrial sewing machine and a fabric cutter. Currently, she has to cut the fabric with scissors which is very tedious and slows down her work. This will allow her to meet her clients' requirements and deliver their orders in a timely fashion, leading to increased production, new contracts and the continuity of her small business.

Leidy dreams of continuing to build up her business and increasing her production every day leading to more employment opportunities and improving the quality of life of her family and of the people who work with her each day.
