Meerimgul's story

Meerimgul is 27 years old, and married with two children. She has a high school education and for many years has raised livestock and farmed. She has five cows, 30 sheep, ten lambs and three calves. She grows potatoes and sainfoin (a plant in the pea family grown in Asia).

Meerimgul is known as a principled, honest, decent and trustworthy person. Her monthly profit from her business is 9,000 KGS. To further expand her business, Meerimgul took a loan from micro-finance bank, Bai-Tushum, for 100,000 KGS to buy calves. She will use the income from the loan to grow her business and intends to build a house in the future.
