A loan of $675 helped purchase clothing, footwear, cosmetics, and home accents.

Mónica Isabel's story

Mónica is 49 years old and has a family made up of her spouse and their two children ages 22 and 25. Her goals for them are to improve their wellbeing, strengthen her working capital, and increase her sales and her profits through her business where she sells miscellaneous merchandise. Her greatest challenge in increasing her sales and reaching her goals is a lack of working capital because even though she has been selling clothing, footwear, accessories and other items for 15 years, she sells on credit, therefore in order to fulfill her orders she must wait for her customers to pay for the merchandise that she has sold them. For this reason, she is seeking her first loan from Kiva through the Mario Santo Domingo foundation. She will use the loan to purchase clothing, footwear, cosmetics and home accents to fulfill her customers' orders. With this investment in her business, she will increase her working capital, her sales and her profits.
