Rubies Group's story

Dadirai is a member of the Rubies group. She is a 31 year old married women who now lives in Mufakose, Harare. The group came into existence when they met at church and formed their own savings and loans club to support their working capital and households needs. They continually attend training offered at Thrive and they have benefited in that they now know how to manage their working capital.
Dadirai started tailoring business two years ago. She started by sewing five ladies skirts. Variety was not possible since she did not have enough money for the materials. Through the ROSCAs, she managed to buy more materials and also to purchase a sewing machine. Dadirai is confident that by buying an over locking machine, her overheads can go down as she will not have to send work out. A Kiva loan can help Dadirai purchase an over locking machine.
