A loan of $800 helped to buy food for cows.

Maksida's story

Maksida was born in 1970 and she lives in a Živinice, a village in Bosnia. She has 3 kids: her oldest son is 20 and works as a construction worker, and her two other sons are 14 and 12 years old and still attend school. Her husband also works in construction.

Maksida works at home, raising her children, growing vegetables, and raising cows. She sells the milk and milk products from her cows in the local market, earning about 150KM/month (the equivalent of roughly $100 USD). Maksida requests a loan of 1,200KM from Women for Women International to purchase food for her cows to survive the winter.
