Maram Group's story

This group is called Maram. It consists of four women, from Sana'a city, Yemen. They are hardworking and enterprising women. They applied for a loan of 160,000 YER from AMB.

Ilham is a 24-year-old married woman with a 2-year-old daughter. She is the leader of the group.

Ilham is an uneducated woman but she is very dynamic and active. She has a lot of house work but doesn't own a washing machine. She currently does the washing by hand. This is exhausting work.

She asked her husband to buy a washing machine to help her with her chores. Unfortunately, her husband's income is not enough to cover all the expenses of the family. For this reason, Ilham applied for 40,000 YER from AMB to buy a washing machine for her household.

Ilham looks forward to using home appliances to make a better future for her family.
