A loan of $400 helped to buy diverse styles of sandals, shoes and slippers among others.

Margarita Del Socorro's story

Margarita del Socorro is an adult, married, with 3 underage children and originally from Chinandega, which is located in the west of the country. Margarita is a hard-working woman, responsible and eager for personal growth. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources, she could not go to college and finished only her junior high school education. She had to work from a young age in order to help with home expenses.

She is an entrepreneur and manager of her own businesses, which consist of the sale of leather shoes, sport shoes, slippers, sandals, etc. in one of the markets of this municipality. She makes her sales and purchases with cash since she is located in a good place where people from other municipalities come to shop to Chinandega. She starts her work day early to be able to sell to those who arrive early in the morning to shop.

One of her dreams is to be able to grow her business, to establish a formal shop and to help her children study to become professionals.

The purpose of this loan is being able to obtain work capital and to supply her inventory with the purchase of shoes, such as: sandals, slippers, sport shoes, and to be able to fulfil some requests that her customers have requested from her. As her business grows she can buy at better prices, supply products that she does not have available and those that are introduced, such as new models of sandals, and to offer these to all her customers.
