A loan of $250 helped to purchase cigarettes, pure water and biscuits to expand her business.

Bandu's story

Meet Bandu. She is a 50-year-old from Jui Western rural in Freetown in Sierra Leone. She is married with six children. For more than five years, Bandu has established her retail business. She began her business because she wanted to educate her children. She works at the business from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm, six days per week. She says that her business is doing well.

Bandu requires a loan in order to purchase cigarettes, pure water and biscuits to expand her business. Seemingly distinct businesses are often mixed in Sierra Leone, the idea being that a customer will come to purchase one thing but will leave having purchased another. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to take care of her family's welfare and increase her business. In the future, Bandu plans to expand her business more than ever. She thanks you for your support.
