Egulansi is 47 years old and lives in the town of Ggaba in the Kampala region of Uganda. She is married, and has four children, with none of them currently in school. For the past five years, Egulansi has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells household items.

To help expand her business, Egulansi has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy drinks and other items, and will help Egulansi to generate greater profits and increase the number of customers. She hopes that in the future she will be able to open up another branch in bunga.

Egulansi is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Egulansi who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
