Aisha's story

Aisha is 32 years old and lives in the town of Luwero in the Luwero region of Uganda. She is married and has 2 children who are both currently in school. For the past 3 years, Aisha has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells rice, sugar, soda, water and maize flour.

To help expand her business, Aisha has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy rice, sugar, soda, water, maize flour. This will help Aisha to generate greater profits and also to earn more profits. Aisha hopes that in the future she will be able to expand to a super market.

Aisha is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Aisha who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
