A loan of $1,150 helped to buy beer, sodas, and water to sell.

Christopher's story

Christopher is 34 years old and lives in the town of Wakiso in the Kampala region of Uganda. He is married and has two children, one of whom is currently in school. For the past five years, Christopher has been working hard to manage his beverage depot, which sells beer, sodas, and water. To help expand his business, Christopher has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy beer, sodas, and water, and will help Christopher to generate greater profits and increase his stock. He hopes that in the future, he will be able to expand the depot. Christopher is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Christopher who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
