Robert's story

Robert is 43 years old and lives in the town of Mpigi in the Kampala region of Uganda. He is married and has six children, with four of them currently in school. For the past eight years, Robert has been working hard to manage his poultry business, which sells layers.

To help expand his business, Robert has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more birds, and will help Robert to generate greater profits. Robert hopes that in the future, he will be able to earn more income.

Robert is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Robert who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
