A loan of $1,550 helped to buy more stationery items.

Robert's story

Robert is 50 years old and lives in the town of Kyengera in the Kampala region of Uganda. He is married and has 3 children with 2 of them currently in school. For the past 6 years, Robert has been working hard to manage his stationery business, which sells stationery equipment.

To help expand his business, Robert has requested a loan of 4,000,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more stationery items, and will help Robert to generate greater profits and expand the business. Robert hopes that in the future he will be able to start another business.

Robert is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Robert who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
