Gerald's story

Gerald is 30 years old and lives in the town of Luwero in the Luwero region of Uganda. He is married and has no children. For the past four years, Gerald has been working hard to manage his business, which sells maize flour, millet flour, and beans.

To help expand his business, Gerald has requested a loan of 3,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy maize flour, millet flour, and beans, and will help Gerald to earn more profits. Gerald hopes that in the future he will be able to expand the business.

Gerald is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Gerald who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
