A loan of $975 helped to buy more refrigerators.

Edward's story

Edward is 44 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Jinja region of Uganda. He is married and has six children, four currently in school. For the past eight years, Edward has been working hard to manage his business selling refrigerators. To help expand his business, Edward has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more refrigerators and will help Edward generate greater profit and expand his business. Edward hopes that in the future he will be able to increase his stock. Edward is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Edward who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
