Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Tehtee's story

Tehtee is a 27-year-old and hard-working woman, a high school graduate, married and lives with her husband and two children. The children are 7 years old and the both of them are in school. They have the same age because according to the mother they are twins. For the past 4 years Tehtee has been selling dry goods and she said she will use the money to buy enough coal, pepper, batteries, rice, etc. to sell. She transports her goods by car to her business center and sells 8 hours per day. She started this business from her husband's savings and learned this trade from her friend. She likes her business because it goes fast and she is proud to be self-employed. Her future plan is to expand her business. And "thanks" was her last statement.
