Saibaba Self-Help Group - Patteeshwaram's story

The Saibaba Self-Help Group is managed by the local NGO “People’s Action for Transformation” (PAT). The group consists of eight industrious women. Patteeshwaram is a village in Tanjore District of Tamil Nadu, India. Rani (standing with her hand raised), the leader of the Saibaba Self-Help Group, lives with her husband and two children. Her spouse is a farmer by profession. All the group members are seeking a loan to purchase a smokeless stove manufactured by Grameen Infra. This stove would result in long-term savings as it will reduce the amount spent on fuel and would be less hazardous to their health due to reduced smoke emissions.
