Evans's story

WONDERFUL KIVA LENDERS! Meet Evans, an ambitious, hardworking and go-getting man who is 27 years of age. He hails from the Eldoret area of Kenya, which is the training ground for many Kenyan Olympic runners and also is home to world record holders in athletics. Evans is still a single man, and he wants to lay a good foundation for his future family, which is why he started farming 3 years ago and has been making and earning a decent income. Evans practices mixed farming, which is crop and dairy farming and through the two efforts he has been able to support his parents and also provide the basic needs that he requires.

Eldoret area is a very populated area, and Evans has been selling vegetables, milk and fruit to the nearby market. One challenge that is holding him back is the timely delivery of the product to the market. Milk and vegetables are very perishable and require timely delivery so that they can fetch a high price but this is hampered because the road network is poor and also the feeder roads are poor thereby leading to delays in the delivery of product. Because of the above reason, Evans has been having losses because the products reach the market when they are no longer fresh. Therefore, he is kindly seeking a loan to buy a motorbike. Through the motorbike he will be able to deliver the products on time to the market and be able to satisfy the increasing client base and market.

Evans is an ambitious person and knowing that there are institutions such as Kiva that help young and enterprising people he feels relieved and knows that he will achieve all of his goals and desires.

Through the loan, Evans will also impact the life of another person because he will employ someone to ride the motorbike and help him with the farm work. Evans has learned a saving culture, and his plans for the extra income he will be getting are to help improve his living standards and also help his parents.
