Luchadores Group's story

Daira lives in Tachina. She is 59 years old and has 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren who go to school regularly. Her younger daughter goes to high school. Her husband is 58 years old and makes a living growing avocados, sapote, mamey, tangerines, and coconuts on a farm located 90 minutes away from the town.

This is the first time that she has taken out a loan from FODEMI. Fortunately, she was invited to be a member of the "Luchadores" group by their leader. With this loan, she wants to take advantage of her house's roadside location to establish a small restaurant, so she will buy tables, chairs, and bamboo for the local-style construction of the restaurant and ingredients for food preparation.

She hopes to see her restaurant improve after 3 years, and that it is in better condition so that customers and tourists are left with a good impression.

She has known the members of this group for 25 years and she knows that they are very responsible and participate well. They have done voluntary communal labor in the community and each one has their own independent business. They are all very happy to have this opportunity to grow with this working capital.

In this group: Daysi Elena, Francisco Javier, Jose Luis, Mercede, Josefa Liliana, Veronica Alexandra, Gladys Shirley, Girabel Tatiana, Dayra Genith, Eddy Fabian, Belgica Esperanza, Madeleiny Lucetty, Hayden Esterlin, Mauricio Francisco, Franklin Javier, Waver Luis, Jose Antonio, Mayra Elizabeth
