Constance's story

Constance is a 20-year-old businesswoman from the Hurungwe District in Zimbabwe. Constance volunteers weekly as a Camfed Learner Guide where she focuses on improving the well-being of young students. Additionally, Constance rents a table at the local flea market where she sells products such as jeans, shirts, skirts, track suits, t-shirts, shoes, and bags. Her business has been up and running for the past year and she has been able to support her family more easily since. With the Kiva loan, Constance will purchase more jeans, shirts, skirts, track suits, t-shirts, shoes, and bags to increase her supplies. Her hope is to grow the business and open her own store. This will bring stability to her business and will enable her to provide for her family’s basic needs. Constance imagines that a stable, growing business will even allow her to hire some employees. Further, the profits from her business will go toward school fees.
