A loan of $500 helped to purchase cartons of sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, and soft drinks to boost sales.

Erica's story

Erica is a 21-year-old woman from the Muzarabani District of Zimbabwe. She is a source of inspiration to young people in her community because she is determined to succeed. Erica often volunteers at the local secondary school as a Camfed Learner Guide, teaching life skills to young students. When Erica is not volunteering, she operates a grocery shop at her local business center. She sells sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, soft drinks, and snacks to community members. Erica will use the Kiva loan to purchase cartons of sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, and soft drinks to boost sales. Erica hopes to expand her business into a larger store, if profits allow.
