Zima's story

Zima is a 22-year-old entrepreneur from Zimbabwe’s Binga District. For the past two and a half years she has been operating a grocery store where she sells sugar, rice, salt, cooking oil and washing soap. Zima also volunteers as a Camfed Learner Guide in the community’s school.

With the Kiva loan, she intends to make bulk purchases of grocery items from wholesalers at lower costs. Then she will be able to sell the groceries at attractive prices and increase sales and profits. With the additional profits, Zima would like to continue her education and become a nurse.
