A loan of $500 helped to increase the stock at her general store.

Beatrice's story

Beatrice is a 25-year-old mother and resident of the Binga District of Zimbabwe. In order to support her three children, Beatrice operates a store where she sells snacks, dried nuts, fruits, and kapenta (dried sardines). Although managing her store takes up a lot of her time, Beatrice volunteers as a Camfed Learner Guide as well. As a Learner Guide she teaches students life skills at the local school. With the loan that she is requesting from Kiva, Beatrice would like to purchase more items from wholesalers to increase her sales and profits. With the additional profits Beatrice hopes to expand her business and create employment opportunities for her community. She will also continue to provide for her family.
