A loan of $500 helped to make bulk purchases of jackets, shirts, skirts, and dresses to reduce costs and boost her sales volumes and profits.

Patience's story

Zimbabwe’s Wedza District resident Patience had a great need to become economically independent, so she started her own clothing business two years ago. Patience sells jackets, shirts, skirts, dresses, shoes, and slippers. Further, Patience volunteers at her former secondary school every week as a Camfed Learner Guide and teaches life skills to young students. With the Kiva loan, Patience intends to make bulk purchases of jackets, shirts, skirts, and dresses to reduce costs and boost her sales volumes and profits. Her hope is to grow the business and open her own shop one day, which will bring stability to her business.
