A loan of $500 helped to make bulk purchases of chicks, vaccines, and feed.

Oppa's story

Oppa is a 26-year-old businesswoman and married mother of two children. She is from the Wedza District of Zimbabwe. With her family’s assistance, Oppa runs a poultry project at the local business center where she produces 60 broiler birds every six weeks. When she is not selling chickens, Oppo works as a volunteer Camfed Learner Guide at a nearby school. Here she helps young students reach their goals and develop leadership skills. With the Kiva loan, Oppa intends to make bulk purchases of chicks, vaccines, and feed to boost production volumes and thus increase profits. With the money she will earn, Oppa will build her parents a house, provide for her family, and pay school fees for her siblings.
