A loan of $500 helped to buy more broiler chicks and chicken feed.

Ivy's story

Ivy is an entrepreneur and married mother from the Wedza District of Zimbabwe. She is in the poultry business and produces about 100 broiler birds every six weeks. Ivy started her business to increase finances for her family, and she was pleased to discover that it was easy to set up and manage.

As a participant in Camfed’s program for young women borrowers (see below), Ivy is a volunteer Learner Guide. As part of this program she teaches leadership skills to young students.

Ivy is applying for a 500 USD loan through Camfed because she sees potential in her business. She would like to buy more broiler chicks and feed to increase production and increase her sales volume. In this way Ivy will be able to better provide for her family and remain financially independent.
