A loan of $5,750 helped a member to buy a milky cow.

Nueva Ilusión (Cuenca) Group's story

The group Nueva Ilusión has 9 entrepreneur and very hard-working members, who bring home the bacon every day thanks to their hard work. They live in Cumbe, Cuenca, where there are large pastures and fields, modern constructions and the charm of traditional architecture. Local people are kind and keep the culture and traditions of their parents.

One of the members is María. She has been with the group for 9 years and has made very good friends. They support each other and have become a united family. María is a 35-year old woman who is married and has a 15-year old daughter in school. Her husband works as a driver and they own the house where they live. María works breeding chicken, guinea pigs, sheep and cows, and sells milk. She also works in agriculture for her own consumption and for sale. These activities have allowed her to support her family and provide them with a better quality of life.

She will use the loan to buy a milky cow. Her goal is to finish the construction of their house.
