A loan of $275 helped to purchase more palm oil to sell.

Wara's story

Meet 32-year-old Wara from Lunsar, in the northern area of Sierra Leone. She is married with three children. Some years ago, Wara established her palm oil business. Palm oil is red in color and is the cornerstone of Sierra Leonean cuisine. It is used as the base for spicy stews. Good quality oil is said to be high in antioxidants. The oil is usually sold in yellow plastic cans.

Borrowers like Wara save money when they buy their oil in bulk. Wara requires a loan in order to purchase more palm oil to sell. She began her business because she wanted to create a source of income to support her family. She works at the business 12 hours per day, six days per week. Wara says that her business is doing well: she is making more profit.

She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to increase her business and take care of her home. In the future, Wara plans to expand her business more than ever. She thanks you for your support.
