A loan of $375 helped to buy goats and chickens.

Ankil Devi's story

Ankil Devi is 65 years old. She is married and has 2 children aged 35 and 28. Many years ago, she established her meat shop business. Working 6 days a week and 8 hours a day, she supports her family. She has already received and successfully repaid 5 loans from Patan BPW and used her most recent one to buy goats and chickens. In the future, Ankil Devi plans to uplift the economic condition of her family. She thanks you for your support. In Nepal, the meat is always fresh. In small stalls along busy roads, open air butcher shops sell chicken, goats, and water buffalo by the kilo. The stalls are piled high with product and sales are brisk. With the help of a Kiva loan, BPW's borrowers are able to purchase additional stock at better prices. This increase in purchasing volume creates greater profit margins for the borrower.
